Wildchild is an earnest blend of singer-songwriter pop, folk-rock balladry, and polished adult-contemporary warmth, balancing autobiographical grief with tender, concrete love songs. Its emotional openness and occasional poignancy are offset by bland ballads, familiar folk-pop clichés, and arena-sized choruses that sometimes lack distinctive hooks.
