Timeless

This archival Prince collection ranges from funk and R&B to guitar-driven rock, jittery new wave, synth-based grooves, and live balladry. Its strongest tracks have energy and texture, but the sequencing feels flat and incohesive, leaving the outtakes less revealing and durable than a more focused compilation might have been.
