Blends earthy pop, soul, guitars, and country-rock textures with raspy vocals. Turns recovery and heartbreak into hooks, though repetition occasionally blunts its mature emotional force.

Critic reviews

Pitchfork: 7.3/10(opens in new tab)by Enzo Escober

Though it falls short of making a grand artistic statement, Mud still contains some of the finest moments of Wolf’s career
NME: 3.5/5(opens in new tab)by Hollie Geraghty

Wolf tones down her signature extravagance and winking punchlines on ‘Mud’, leaving rough and earthy textures in their place.
Paste: B(opens in new tab)by Sam Rosenberg

In adopting a literally earthier image with Mud, Wolf has crafted her tightest, most personal, and mature work to date.
