This expansive double album turns sinister post-punk and psychedelic rock toward denser, mostly organic arrangements, folding in dub rhythms, dream-pop guitars, folk touches, brass, and saxophone. Its weary sing-speak and dystopian unease remain central, but brighter hooks, humor, and compact songcraft make the sprawling, improvisatory sequence unusually accessible.

Critic reviews

The 23-song double album maintains compact pop-song structures across its 75-minute span.
