Flowers Powers filters 1960s pop through scrappy bedroom production, pairing jangling guitars and gospel flourishes with processed vocals, intimate melancholy, and a sparse country finale. Inventive arrangements and sincere singing give its playful songs substance, though conspicuous references and a narrow stylistic palette can limit their impact.
