Dream Death

This dense, progressive death-metal album pairs punishing grooves, frantic riffs, technical leads, and searing solos with increasingly prominent melodic and hazy atmospheric layers. Its volatile beauty-versus-brutality contrasts are compelling and rewarding, though crowded production and occasionally loose transitions keep the aggressive and mellifluous elements from fully coalescing.
