Lush harmonies, buoyant bass and shimmering synths lend a summery glow to fluid singing and assured rapping across R&B, soul and jazz-funk. The polished arrangements offer moments of beauty, but abrupt stylistic changes and familiar romantic themes leave the album short on cohesion and emotional depth.
